Digital workflow software company, ServiceNow, is to begin offering customers the option to have their EU hosted data always handled exclusively in the EU.
The move takes place against the backdrop of growing uncertainty around the legality of EU-US data transfers following a series of high-profile legal cases and rulings.
ServiceNow is also to make a multi-million euro investment in its EU services, led from Dublin, that will see around 80 jobs created across the union.
As well as hosting EU customer data in Europe, Service Now says its customers will be able to receive support from teams based exclusively in the EU as part of the development.
The company claims the new fully EU-based cloud solution will provide its customers with more flexibility to meet their compliance obligations.
“Our new EU-centric service delivery model will give our current customers and partners peace of mind,” said Mark Cockerill, Vice President Legal, EMEA and Global Head of Privacy, ServiceNow.
“For customers and partners operating in highly regulated industries, or in the public sector, or those that have yet to make the switch to the cloud, this model gives them certainty and simplicity when selecting the cloud service that best suits their needs.”
In April ServiceNow said it was creating 300 new jobs in Dublin over the next three years.
The expansion will quadruple its current Dublin headcount to over 400.
