- Jamie Lee Curtis shared a throwback photo to Instagram from her days promoting the 1985 film Perfect.
- “This was before the glam squad and you just wore your own clothes and did your own hair and makeup,” she wrote.
- Fans loved the naturally glamorous look.
Whether she’s posting a fresh-faced beach selfie at 63 or rocking a feathery black robe while promoting her ’80s film Perfect, Jamie Lee Curtis’ natural beauty is undeniable. In one of her most recent Instagrams, the actress shared a throwback from the latter life moment, and the vignette simply screams nostalgic glamour.
In the grainy shot, Curtis posed on a balcony wearing minimal makeup, the aforementioned voluminous robe, and effortlessly tousled short hair. “WAY back in the DAY, PERFECT was coming out and @johntravolta and I were [on] the cover of @rollingstone and features inside,” she captioned the post. “@bonnieschiffmanphotography took this on my balcony. This was before the glam squad and you just wore your own clothes and did your own hair and makeup. She is a fantastic shooter and ALWAYS made things FUN!”
Sure, that Rolling Stone cover was pretty iconic, but this candid gem might be even better. Curtis’ followers sure thought so. “Here’s proof: you don’t *need* a glam squad. 🙌🏽,” one person commented. “#naturalbeauty,” another added. “Beautiful as always,” someone else wrote.

As Hollywood becomes more about tweaking one’s image with not just glam squads, but procedures, fillers, and the like, Curtis is adamantly resisting.
While recently speaking with Maria Shriver for the Radically Reframing Aging Summit presented by Sounds True and Shriver Media, the actress said that “there has been a genocide on natural beauty,” especially when it comes to the concept of anti-aging. “This word ‘anti-aging’ has to be struck. I am pro-aging,” she added. “I want to age with intelligence and grace and dignity and verve and energy.”
And that she has.

A cultural staple of its time, Perfect stars John Travolta as an investigative journalist who covers the fitness club fad of the ’80s. While doing so, he meets Curtis’ character, an aerobics instructor who is weary of reporters. Through resistance and lots of leotards and leg warmers, the pair eventually fall in love.
“The movie PERFECT was 35 years ago,” Curtis tweeted in 2020. “It has survived many exercise crazes, MANY memes but at its heart was something special & deep. People trying to find love & 2 be their best selves. I loved my partner, his grace, then & now, made the experience lovely. My hand in yours John.”
She was perfect then and is perfect now. You can’t tell us otherwise.
