A SKINCARE pro known for her clear complexion shared the unconventional way she uses a popular product.
Ava Lee – who calls her clear skin “jello skin” – revealed how she dilutes one harsh anti-aging bestseller to safely use on her neck.
In her initial TikTok video, Ava was seen dispensing lines of crimson red liquid onto a cotton pad before sticking it onto her neck, saying that she wasn’t using it for its intended use.
One person commented, “I need more information lol,” to which Ava responded with a new, more detailed video.
The content creator was using cult-favorite skincare brand The Ordinary’s AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, which retails for $8 on its website and on other retailers’ sites.
This product is intended to be an exfoliant masque for the face. It’s quite acidic, so the brand only recommends the formula for those familiar with similar exfoliants and with non-sensitive skin.
But Ava turned the tables by putting the product on her neck, which is thinner and more delicate than the skin on our faces.
“I know it looks scary but hear me out. I feel like other parts of my body tolerate this better than my face,” she said in a follow-up video.
Text on the screen of her video reads that the product “exfoliates, softens, and prevents wrinkles.”

“You don’t do this every day, just a couple times a week, or even once a week,” Ava said, after confirming in the comments section that she uses it once a week.
She also noted that the product is acidic, so her trick is to use hydrating toning pads to dilute and balance it.
Holding a cotton pad, Ava dispensed three lines of the peeling exfoliant from the dropper onto it.
“I can just either swipe it or leave it on like a masque on areas [where] I just want to soften my skin out,” she added.
She then placed it onto one portion of her neck and patted it a few times until the pad stayed in place without her holding it.
“This is how you get a gentle exfoliation and hydration at the same time,” she clarified.
“After a while, about ten minutes, you’re going to use another toner pad to gently sweep that through,” she shared while using a clean cotton pad to wipe off the product.
“Then go in with a nice serum or moisturizer or whatever and further hydrate the skin,” she said, adding, “This is how you get clear neck skin!”
People responded with positivity and asked for further tips. Some also shared that they use the same peeling solution on their armpits and knees to help with darker skin discoloration.
Following this, Ava tested using the product on her armpits with the same cotton pads in another video.
