European Employers Eyeing Productivity Monitoring Software, Despite Legal, Privacy Risks | Legaltech News –

As the world went remote in early 2020, employers needed to adjust on the fly. In Europe, that adjustment has meant an increase in not only remote work, but in employee productivity monitoring software to ensure the work is being done. However, remote work hasn’t necessarily translated to an increase in tech skills, as there remains a gap between how European and U.S. companies approach technology training.

Yesterday, employment law firm Littler released its 2021 European Employer Survey Report, which polled 530 human resources executives, in-house attorneys and business leaders based mainly across Western and Southern Europe on their employment preferences. This year’s report focused heavily on pandemic-mandated employment initiatives, such as remote work, mental health, and technological displacement.
