DexKo Global Inc., a global leader in highly engineered trailer running gear, chassis assemblies, and related components headquartered in Novi, announced it has completed the acquisition of European towbar solutions leader Brink International.

The strategic acquisition enables DexKo’s subsidiary AL-KO Vehicle Technology Group to expand its product portfolio as well as its operations footprint, along with giving it access to new end markets to continue growth.

Based in Staphorst, Netherlands, Brink employs 900 people in eight countries. Its product portfolio included fixed, detachable, retractable, and next-generation towbars. The connection between towbars and trailer couplings is a natural next step to expand DexKo’s technological scope.

“We are very excited to welcome Brink into the DexKo family,” says Fred Bentley, CEO of DexKo Global. “This acquisition expands our global leadership position, providing an extension into new products and technology and substantially growing our presence in the aftermarket. Brink is in an excellent business that is a great strategic fit with DexKo. We are looking forward to working with the management team and Brink employees to pursue continued growth.”

It develops and produces tow bars in close cooperation with most leading European car manufacturers both under private label as original equipment as well as under the Brink brand for the aftermarket. Every towbar is tested at the Brink Towing Test Center in Staphorst to ensure it holds up to the heaviest circumstances.

AL-KO provides chassis and suspension components for trailers, leisure vehicles, commercial vehicles, construction vehicles, and agricultural vehicles. It includes 15 international brands: AL-KO, Aguti, Bankside Patterson, Bradley, Brink, CBE, CM Trailer Parts, E&P Hydraulics, G&S Chassis, Hume, Nordelettronica, Preston Chassis, SAFIM, SAWIKO, and Winterhoff.

DexKo Global was founded in 2015 with the combination of AL-KO and Dexter. It employs more than 7,000 people with 52 production facilities and 49 distribution centers globally, offering a combined 130 years of experience in the field.
