LECOM Health’s Institute for Successful Aging, in partnership with the Erie County Department of Health, is expanding access to COVID-19 testing.

Testing is now available each weekday at the LECOM Center for Health & Aging, 3910 Schaper Ave. In addition, COVID-19 vaccinations will continue to be given there on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Creating a COVID-19 Resource and Response Center with LECOM Health is part of the county Health Department’s attempt to focus more attention on vaccinating and testing residents as a way out of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The goal of our health department is to hope for the best and prepare for the worst,” Erie County Executive Brenton Davis said recently when he received his COVID-19 booster shot. “Partnering with LECOM Health, and holding more mobile testing and vaccination clinics, allows us to use our resources where they are most needed.”

The tests and vaccinations are free to all county residents, though people should bring their health insurance card and proper identification.

Testing will be available at the center at the following times:

  • Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Tuesdays — 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Free COVID-19 testing is also available Mondays through Fridays from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the LECOM Senior Living Center, 5535 Peach St.

COVID-19 vaccinations will be given at the Center for Health & Aging on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
