Canon Europe makes senior appointments – Printweek

Canon Europe has made a trio of new appointments to strengthen its senior team over the last few weeks.

Mathew Faulkner has been promoted to the role of EMEA director, marketing and innovation, Wide Format Printing Group. He will be responsible for strategic and operational marketing for the wide-format printing business, which includes the imagePrograf, Colorado, Arizona, ColorWave, and PlotWave product lines.

Faulkner has previously fulfilled a range of marketing roles in Canon’s production print business over the last decade, including nearly five years working in applications-led marketing and business development for wide-format, following two years marketing the imagePrograf portfolio.

Most recently, he has been focused on customer and product marketing in Canon’s cutsheet toner business.

Faulkner said: “My ambition has always been to help print businesses to succeed – whether that’s creating a smarter workflow or helping them find new areas of growth, and I’m bringing that same focus into my new role.

“Canon has a world-class wide-format offering, from innovative large-format print technologies to the software solutions that support them, to the specialist partners we work with to help customers work smarter. I’m excited to come back into the vibrant world of wide-format print and inspire our customers with all of the creative applications and growth opportunities that are within their reach.”

Faulkner also currently sits on the council of the Independent Print Industries Association (IPIA) and is chairman of its Training and Education subcommittee. He is also a member of the marketing steering group for print and paper advocacy group Two Sides.

He will report into Jennifer Kolloczek, who has also been newly appointed as marketing and innovation senior director of European Production Planning.

She will integrate and lead all Production Print business planning and marketing activities for the EMEA market and brings extensive marketing, product management, and portfolio planning experience, gained over more than 20 years in the production print industry.

Most recently, Kolloczek held the global position of director of Graphic Arts at Canon Production Printing, where she focused on accelerating the adoption of production inkjet in the graphic arts space.

She will report into Hiro Imamura, vice president of marketing and innovation at Canon Europe Digital Printing and Solutions.

Finally, Alicia Cifré Trassierra has been appointed as European vice president of Production Print Direct Sales.

Responsible for setting and implementing a robust go-to-market strategy for Production Print direct sales in EMEA, she will work closely with the wider Digital Printing and Solutions business unit, which includes the Marketing and Innovation, Services and Support, and Workspace and Partner Sales teams.

She will also support Canon’s national sales organisations throughout EMEA to drive their go-to-market and operational development plans.

With over 30 years of experience in the industry, including over 12 years at Canon Spain, Cifré Trassierra has held positions in her career ranging from business controlling and planning, budgeting, and forecasting, through to business and sales operations.

Most recently, she served as head of production sales for Canon Spain and, prior to taking on this role, she was director of Production Printing Products.

Cifré Trassierra will report to Taz Nakamasu, executive vice president of Digital Printing and Solutions at Canon Europe.
